Scouting SMU

I don’t expect us to catch the Mustangs coming out of the tunnel, jack a leg up, lay them down and go to thumping on them with a bois d’arc post to the tune of 52-10.  This isn’t your familiar post-death penalty, amateur SMU football team.  June Jones is in town and he’s getting things turned around.

Tech Defense vs. SMU Offense: The 3-4 Apples to Apples Preview

I’m amped.  It’s week 1 and I’m not replaying a game yet.  Let’s start taking a look at the Pony offense and take a guess at how we might defend them.  I’ve never played in a 3-4, so the personnel is somewhat confusing for me at times.  These outfits aren’t geared to stop a Wheeler smashmouth, Wing-T game.  Totally different.

To simplify things, let’s not focus on positional labels.  We’ll just count players in the box
