I’m a coaches’ poll guy and Tech is ranked higher:

6.  Bob Stoops, OU – Damn, the GPs had reached an all-time pinnacle and get beat by a coach, who is the anti-thesis to golf prick because the GP communities have deep Texas ties, and they’re too savvy to hire one of their own. 

10.  Mike Gundy, OSU – Wow, this is like when John Daly won the U.S. Open.  Exactly, the more I think about it.  Gundy is the new generation of GP.  Since he’s a near Generation X’er, Gundy spent the 80s in Stillwater with a buttcut and wearing a Members Only jacket to bag hot OSU tail with bad perms and oversized sweatshirts.  He’s a man alright, but he still listens to Duran Duran on his Ipod.  Gundy’s touch to the new generation of GPs?  The element of hair gel.

12.  Gary Pinkel, Mizzou – In what most expected to be a battle of drivers, turned into a battle of efficient short game.  Chase Daniel spent most of the 4th quarter in the bunker. 

21.  Butch Davis, North Carolina – Hmmm, will Texas go to the well someday for another North Carolina head coach?  This is tempting as Davis has definitely proven his abilities with regards to the game of football, but they know one when they see one and I just don’t think you’ll ever see one wearing the burnt orange.

24.  Gary Patterson, TCU – Patterson is my favorite GP of all.  He’s the GP that’s not really a good golfer, but he’s closed too much business to run off.  Patterson is drunker than Pacman Jones at a titty bar by the 11th hole and shanking shit into the trees.  Everyone hates being around him on the golf course because he has no tact.  I probably relate to him the closest.
