Economic Retort: Greater College Station/Blinn Market 2008

Posted by dedfischer on December 12th, 2008 under Uncategorized

Deep fried pastry revenues exceeded 2007 results largely due to higher demand over the first 2 quarters.  All other industries typically struggled across the board.  The specialty monogrammed bathroom linen sector was wrecked by an over production of obsolete inventory.  Conditions were accelerated by a Union worker’s strike in the 4th quarter as the trend continued of wages lagging behind inflation since the Sherrill era.  Leaders are pining Congress for a BCS bailout, but expectations are dim at best.  Future Outlook:  Bleak.

The future largely hinders on the willingness of lenders to restructure outstanding operating lines.
