As most of you know, Brandon Carter went down with an undisclosed knee injury yesterday. That’s a shame as this short clip of Carter in action at LT is very promising from a footwork perspective. He also looks much better with 25 less pounds. Matt Moore seems optimistic.
Hopefully, it’s nothing serious and this may give some young, promising guys such as Terry McDaniel, Mickey Okafor and Lonnie Edwards an opportunity to develop more. I’m also impressed that it takes a hand grenade or Chuck Norris with a hand grenade to incapacitate Harrison Jeffers. The defense certainly seems frustrated:
Be sure to check out Seth C’s reports over at Double T Nation for good info.

At some point even the questions about pass protection and blitz pickup aren’t going to be enough to keep Jeffers off the field.
Solution? Run a lot of 2-back sets with Batch so he can make check calls to Jeffers.
Oh, and put the ball in Jeffers hands. A lot. So he doesn’t have to worry about blocking.
I read one thread on RRS that said Carter might be back tomorrow at practice. Like you, part of me was kind of excited about extra reps for McDaniel or Okafor, but with Carter being new to the spot I would rather he get a full spring indoctrination.

Doesn’t seem too serious and Carter is expected back before the end of spring.
