Nebraska Post Mortem – The Break Up

Posted by RRR on February 27th, 2010 under Basketball

I feel like I just got dumped for good after a three-month relationship that was hot for a month and then rocky for the last two.

UT Post Mortem – Okorie for the tie…in and out.

Posted by RRR on February 20th, 2010 under Basketball

After being out-rebounded 43-22, three starters banged up, and looking out-gunned for 35 minutes, somehow we end up with a shot to tie at the end.

Baylor Post Mortem

Posted by RRR on February 16th, 2010 under Basketball

On a night when Baylor introduced Kenneth Starr as their new president (a man capable of spending $70 million of the tax payers’ money for a soiled dress), the athletes on the floor for Baylor made the better statement.

A&M Post- and Baylor Pre-Game Thoughts

Posted by RRR on February 15th, 2010 under Basketball

Well, it’s been a couple of days, so hopefully everyone’s recovered from the loss to A&M on Saturday.

OU Post Mortem: Justice

Posted by RRR on February 9th, 2010 under Basketball

Justice.  After watching the Tony Crocker school of ‘bitching at refs until you get a bogus charge call’, it didn’t look good for Tech.  But OU’s woeful outside shooting came to the rescue.

Mid-Season Thoughts and OU Pre-Game

Posted by RRR on February 8th, 2010 under Basketball

While I'm stuck contemplating Bob Huggins' aqua-net wings for two hours before the KU-UT collision, I figured I'd jot some notes on this Tech team and what lies before it.

OSU Post Mortem

In our Big XII opener, OSU smoked us by 29.  We tried to get some payback.

A&M Post Mortem

Posted by RRR on January 30th, 2010 under Basketball

Just like we did Wednesday night, Tech was hot early with great execution.  And then A&M went to into the post and ground us into submission.

UT Post Mortem

An electric first half made things interesting, but the mighty Horns asserted themselves in the second half.

There are no laws in Oklahoma.

So, I think the Horns might be good enough to make the quarterfinals of the NIT. And maybe not. Just a team completely adrift.

    Trips,

I hear you and I agree. And I know most are just frustrated, angry, and beaten down by this year. I really hope that any staff change that takes place will bring energy and maybe a little joy. Just a little. Obviously we need to rework our offense. Barnes installed

There’s no sense in looking up a dead horse’s ass.

Yep…this is just like watching the 2003 Holiday Bowl, for two months straight.

Hey, did anyone else watch the 2003 Holiday Bowl while on their honeymoon, in Louisiana?

I won’t even get started on the offense because there is no prayer in getting that changed this year.

Well the year appears to be one more game. Thus, love to read your thoughts for next season.

Patrick, yes, I know. It’s cool. There’s no way he gets fired. I’m just saying that an Offensive minded AC isn’t going to help unless our kids are having fun.

“So basically Trips is saying that Barnes can’t coach the game, and can’t motivate the players.

    Rebuttal anyone? Not from me.”

You could make the case that he can recruit, runs a clean and reputable program and represents the University with class and dignity while helping bring the program into the national spotlight which generates revenue.

I mean, I don’t want to be overly dramatic, but do any of you get the sense that this is turning around anytime soon? Something really fucking shitty has happened to our program over the past two years. And with what we’re losing and what we’re bringing in, it’s going to get a lost worse

I watched it on the DVR. It was after 9 by the time it was over. Thank god, or I’d be about halfway through some crap gin by now. I didn’t think we’d win this one but I didn’t think we’d struggle to lose by only 19.

    Good write up, btw.

“Patrick, I’d agree with you if you could guarantee the AC would be a buffer between Barnes and the kids. We have x’s and o’s issues, but we also have a problem with kids having the fun coached out of them.”

I started this with just under 8 minutes to go in the game. Otherwise this would have been a list of 50.
