Pre-Spring Starters: Dreams Do Come True

If I had been given one wish for this recruiting class, it would have been for Ruff to dart and bag the country's #1 rated Juco DE. Scott Smith is that guy per Rivals and has signed with Tech as a spring enrollee proving what most of us knew already, that Jesus is a Red Raider. The 2009 TR All Big 12 Team

We've all had our laughs at the Coach's and AP conference honor teams. Now, that the season has wrapped up, it's time to reflect on what actually transpired on the field of play. I'll start off with a few thoughts:
- The level of QB play was down across the board primarily as a result of the shittiest year for OL play that I can recall in this league.

Like many others, I correctly predicted an 8-4 finish for this ball club and I really felt it might be an overachieving 8-4 season. What it turned out to be by most public opinion is an underachieving 8-4 team. Now, that naturally comes with a hint of disappointment, but I'm pretty sure I'm more comfortable with

OU Post-Mortem: Anatomy of Coherent Offense

This was somewhat of a bittersweet victory for me. Watching us pound on the worn out Sooner front in the 4th quarter was something I underestimated us being able to accomplish to the extent we did. All season, I've seen this OL winning more battles upfront in the run game than previous Leach teams. We've shown some signs of being a very effective running team in almost every matchup. OU Gameplan: Tech Offense

The Sooner defense creates some considerable issues for Tech in generating forward progress. The things we did well last week to score points may not be something we can lean on as an option for winning. We could have continued running the ball between the guards and WR hitch screens against OSU. We didn't commit to it for any substantial amount of time, but the drives that we did yielded points.
